Hundreds of millions of pounds of government funding is to be spent on supporting bus services in the South West of England.

Wiltshire Council will be provided with £12.6M to to help improve both the bus services themselves, as well as network infrastructure.

This much needed funding will help provide lower fares, more frequent services, and the reliable transport routes that communities in Wiltshire and Salisbury depend on”.

Local Salisbury residents are well aware that delays of 15-20 minutes are not unusual for buses to negotiate from the Market Square to Exeter St roundabout.

Hopefully this money can be used to improve the movement of buses through the city as well as reducing fares for younger residents.

We are delighted by this announce as the improved bus services will be beneficial to all road users.
