The funding, which was secured in April 2026, will be invested between 2026/27 and 2029/30 and will support a wide range of transport improvements, including maintaining and improving roads, supporting local bus services, investing in walking and cycling, and delivering greener and more sustainable transport infrastructure.

The funding will be spent on active travel including:

Strengthening planning, delivery and monitoring to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and represent value for money.

Maintaining and improving Wiltshire’s roads, including resurfacing and preventative repairs.

Supporting local bus services, particularly routes that communities rely on.

Improving walking, wheeling and cycling infrastructure, such as pavements, crossings and cycle routes.

Investing in greener transport, including electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Delivering local transport improvements that improve safety, connectivity and access to services.
